California is one earthquake away from full-on third-world conditions. I'm not kidding; the state is going to run out of money by July, foreclosures dot the landscape, and unemployment is sky-high. It is not a desirable place to live.

Regarding Prop 8, unfortunately the hands of the Court were tied. California allows voters to revise the state constitution through the ballot box. The Court couldn't overturn it.

And at least the judge said the marriages that had already happened would be allowed to stand. Unlike the asshole who overturned the ones in San Francisco.

The state constitution can always be re-revised.
