edit: yes, I discovered a minute or two after posting this that actually, it's to do with the Telegraph's site and their URL rewriting rules. The page is specified by the "4961897" part and anything that comes after it ending in ".html" will work. In fact you can mess about with some of the stuff before it as well, though not arbitrarily; this works for any story, e.g. ...educationnews/4963696/Ed-Balls-says-something-vaguely-true-but-is-still-a-wanker.html

Unfortunately when I tried to edit this post last night, Livejournal went down. Not seen that happen for ages.

Well, no point in boarding it up, there's no money to nick is there and most people have all the paper clips they need.
