But I might as well, before I forget. On Wednesday I was having lunch with my sister just by the Festival Hall, and we noticed that there was a bit of a commotion going on outside, a crowd, some security people, a few cameras etc. When I left I wandered over to see what it was and found that it was Sir Thomas Jones Woodward OBE, with a beard, singing some songs.

You lucky bastard. And I'm not even what I'd call a Tom Jones fan. He sounds good live and (relatively) impromptu.

What an exciting life you lead in the metropolis. I have to content myself with seeing Kirstie Allsop in the local seaside pub - not even with Phil Spence.

Just part of London life.

When I moved to London in the 60's I was walking along, minding my business when around the corner marched a military band in full cry and some soldiers. It seems they were about to change the guard at the palace.

Do they still do that, I wonder ?

And the sky wasn't orange.
