Barely worth mentioning

but after getting back at midnight, I managed to wake up at, what was it, half four? and not really get back to sleep for any real length of time. I am coming to the conclusion that it isn't really worth the effort trying any more, and I might as well get up coffee myself to death.

When I have insomniac episodes it's either 12:00 am or 4:00 am. If it's midnight then it means I've generally dropped off to sleep and then something loud has happened to wake me up, in which case I'm not getting back to sleep until 2:00 am. If it's a 4:00 am I might be able to drop off at 5:00 am, it's just a matter of if I have to get up at 6:00 am to get ready to go to work, is it worth it?

If I wake up any time after 4, I figure it's not worthwhile to go back to sleep. It makes for a long day, though.

Oh insomnia, I know it well. You could always try the old classic - tossing and turning and then falling into a really gorgeous deep sleep about 15 minutes before the alarm goes off.

It's a bitch, it really is...
