From Rymans, replacing the stationery that was stolen when my laptop bag was stolen:

  • Pink, green and yellow Stabilo Swing highlighters
  • One black 1.0mm gel pen, one black Pilot V10 Grip (exact nib width unknown)
  • Red and green biros
  • 2 x HB pencils
  • Metal pencil sharpener
  • Transparent pencil-case
  • Blue, yellow, green and pink 20x38mm Post-it (50 of each) for marking pages
  • Three 100 pads of 51x38mm yellow Post-its
  • One pack of 720 shiny sticky stars in blue, red, silver, green and gold
  • Fairly fat reporter-style medium-sized notebook, black
  • Also fairly fat ring-bound A4 squared notebook, purple, plastic cover, stretchy purple keep-closed elastic thing

A shop called Tiger, I think, some sort of new pound-shop continental home furnishings place:

  • One 25g bag kaffir lime leaves
  • One 200g bag Himalaya salt (no, no idea)
  • One small dynamo torch
  • CD case
  • Mug with a sort of green wallpaper pattern on it

Clothes shop called Blue Inc:

  • One canvas shoulder bag, blue
  • One black hoodie with little grey space invaders all over it

From "french and continental market" outside the Lyric:

  • "Stag", "Smoke" and "Garlic" dried sausages, ten pound deal with a bottle of wine (some random Cabernet)
  • Marinated sweet garlic, marinated sweet ginger and marinated peppers; too much of each. I foolishly accepted a large scoop for each one and it came to nearly fifteen quid.

From deli opposite Hammersmith and City line exit of Hammersmith station:

  • Loaf of some sort of crusty bread with herbs in it, which fell on the floor in the tube on the way home but is fine I'm sure
  • 300g of fresh parmesan

Corner shop on the way home:

  • Three onions
  • Lump of ginger
  • Two tins chopped tomatoes
  • Tin kidney beans
  • Tin mixed beans and peas

I only went out for the stationery.

Let's get some shoes!

I didn't see any that I liked. Though I do need some shoes actually.

I am fascinated by your bag inventory list, actually! I have been trying to figure out what is the proper balance of bag-as-utility-belt vs. my-shoulder-hurts.

For the "wandering about, may do some work, may have some ideas" load... apart from the A4 notebook and the pencil case with all the pens and stuff in it, I generally have phone, Eee PC, 3G modem dongle and mini travel mouse in there. Perhaps a paperback as well. (And sundry environmental protection devices as required e.g. umbrella, hat, gloves.)

That sounds like quite a lot but actually it's all surprisingly light - adding a bottle of water in there as well, for instance, feels like it's almost doubled the weight.
